Two systems, one set of numbers

Problem

Stock and prices lived in an accounting package finance would not leave, and in a storefront that could not see it. Staff re-typed both daily.

Constraint

The accounting system could not be replaced or modified, and it was the legal record.

Outcome

Manual re-entry eliminated; one source for stock and price; paid orders flow back as invoices. Extended to multiple warehouses and a retry queue.
